The golden yellow colour anticipates an ample, exquisite and refined bouquet, in which delicate hints of vanilla envelop quince and ripe citrus fruit sensations. On the palate, it is creamy and embracing, smooth, silky, well-structured and dynamic.
This wine was named after the vineyard where the grapes are harvested: 4.14 hectares at approximately 300 metres above sea level, among the most sun-kissed in the Franciacorta area. The substrate consists of carbonate-rich glacial deposits, characterized by sandy-silty textures, compacted with gravel under the glacier’s pressure. Vines are average 35 years old, Guyot trained with a plant density of 5000 vines per hectare and cultivated using organic fertiliser and sustainable minimal viticultural practices, Grapes are hand picked.
The grapes undergo a slow and soft mechanical pressing in Coquard presses followed by decanting at cool temperatures. The must ferments in small oak barrels, 15% new and the rest 3-4 years old for 12 months. The wine is then aged for 6 more months in the bottle.
The Bellavista winery, meaning beautiful view, was founded in 1977 in Erbusco by the Moretti family. Extending over 207 hectares of land, the Bellavista winery produces 1,500,000 bottles a year, according to organic viticulture principles. Franciacorta's unique terroir, nestled between the pre-Alps and Lake Iseo, benefits from glacial soils and a mild, breezy climate ideal for grape growing. Vittorio Moretti, in a pioneering way, was the first to invest in other types of activities in the Franciacorta area with the aim of realizing his dream of owning a French-style Château. Today his wine resort hosts many events such as weddings, culinary experiences and corporate hospitality. Bellavista still maintains a large part of tradition in the production chain with vineyards scattered throughout Franciacorta.
