Intense straw yellow in colour, a fine and elegant nose with vegetal notes of Mediterranean scrub, floral hints of elderberry and hawthorn, together with hints of pulp fruit. In the mouth it is crunchy, savoury and with the right minerality.
The Timorasso grapes come from twenty- to thirty-year-old vines planted on limestone soils on south-facing slopes at an altitude of 300-350 metres. The grapes were harvested by hand.
Following a short maceration, fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks and the wine was left to age in these tanks for eighteen months, followed by another six months in bottle.

Piero Broglia released his first wine from his father’s La Meirana estate in 1974, but there is a record of vines at the property that dates back to 971 AD, the very beginning of the story of Gavi. An MP with a law degree, Piero is a born researcher, having provided Italy’s first register of satellite-mapped vineyards, in Gavi, and carried out a study into clones of Cortese, the local vine.
