Mouth-coating darker fruit flavours grace the palate, along liquorice and sweet spice notes. Firm tannin structure, balanced acidity and a long finish make this wine a great pairing with grilled meats.
The wine is aged in a mix of French, Hungarian and American oak, using about 10% new oak. Fermented in both open tops as well as closed tops in order to capture the true essence of the Zinfandel grape, the wine is aged for 11 months before bottling.

Founded in 1857 by the self-proclaimed ‘Count of Buena Vista’ Agoston Haraszthy, Buena Vista pioneered the production of high quality wines in California. Here he introduced ground-breaking viticultural practices such as dry-farming and hillside planting as well as constructing California’s first gravity fed winery. Following several changes in ownership, the historic winery was purchased in 2011 by the Boisset family from Burgundy. Under Jean-Charles Boisset the winery has undergone extensive renovation and the Count’s original vision is being pursued with renewed vigour.
