Casa Valduga Arte Tradicional Brut Rosé 2019

New product

Very pretty pale pink, with floral and fruity notes recalling peach and blackberry. Delicate but persistent mousse and fine balance in the mouth make this delightfully refreshing.

More info

Grapes were grown in Valduga’s own vineyards in the Vale dos Vinhedos. This “valley of vineyards” is a sub-zone of the Sierra Gaúcha region, and was the first area to be awarded DO status in Brazil. The vineyards are planted on fairly steep basalt slopes at 400-800 metres above sea level. The grapes were hand-harvested and then underwent a further selection in the winery.

The grapes were destemmed and gently pressed, with the Pinot Noir seeing a brief cold maceration to extract some colour. Fermentation was carried out at 15ºC in stainless steel tanks, using Champagne yeast. The second fermentation took place in bottle, and after twelve months on lees, the bottles were riddled and disgorged.

Casa Valduga

The Valduga family emigrated from Italy to Brazil in 1875 and since then has been producing wine: first for their own consumption, then in bulk, and now as one of the country’s leading producers of premium bottled wine. Despite the growth of the business, the family remains involved in every aspect of the production, even winery design. As Brazil starts to make waves on the export market, Casa Valduga is one of the pioneering producers setting the pace.
