Warm and savoury notes with hints of dried plums and coffee. A well structured and smooth style of Côtes du Rhone.
The Domaine covers 40 hectares in the Tavel, Lirac and Cotes du Rhône appellations and the vineyards have been certified organic since 2000 and biodynamic since 2011. Owned by the Leperchois family, who are keen devotees to the biodynamic philosophy, the Domaine derives its name from its role as a coaching inn and the original cellars were developed in the old stables.
Domaine des Carabiniers practices certified organic and biodynamic practices in its vineyards. The vines are grown in Pliocene sand and are surrounded by heat reflecting pebbles. During the vine's dormant period, composted grape pomace is ploughed in to improve the soil. Vigorous pruning takes place to select the fruiting canes. Protection of the vines is paramount and the vines are closely monitored on a daily basis, taking into account the weather patterns, in order to reduce the risk of mildew. The vines are green harvested to concentrate the flavours in the remaining berries and the harvest takes place once the grapes have reached the optimum level of maturity.

Created in 1924, the Cellier des Princes is the only cooperative cellar in the Châteauneuf du Pape area. The combination of the meticulous work from the vinegrowers, the complex and diversified soils and the optimal exposure of the vineyards along with the age of the vines are the key factors making the terroir exceptional. The wines are a product of their forward-thinking environment and show lovely structure and opulence as a result of the hot, dry climate and the chalky, pebbled soils.
