Dogajolo Rosso IGT Toscana Carpineto - the Carpineto estate affectionately refers to Dogajolo as its "baby super-Tuscan". Made with 70% Sangiovese, and 20% Cabernet plus a secret mix of "other varieties", Dogajolo is aged in small wooden barrels to give a structured, ripe, earthy wine with hints of tanned leather.
Founded in 1967, Carpineto is a partnership between Giovanni C. Sacchet and Antonio M. Zaccheo, whose mission was to produce a world-class red wine from the Chianti Classico appellation. This was a radical departure from the marketplace of the time when most Chianti was still produced in a very old-fashioned, and often unreliable, way.
