Dark blackberry and plum fruit combine with savoury graphite and smoky flavours on the finish. The structure is dense with rich, round tannins but the core is bright and juicy.
Domaine des Rosiers is owned by Gérard Charvet, who took over control from his father in 1983. A passionate vigneron whose family have been based in the neighbouring region of Chénas for over a century, he has strong roots in the region.
The twenty hectares of vineyards lie at high altitude on some of the area's best terroir. The grapes were harvested by hand.
The must was whole bunch pressed and fermented using indigenous yeast, with a 10-14 day maceration; thirty percent of the wine was then aged in oak before blending and bottling.
