New product
A typical Liatiko from Crete, with aromas of spices, olives and dark rich fruits, matched by a palate of red cherries and an earthy character and hints of tannins that will age and mature with time.
Production by the Douloufakis family started in 1930 with grandfather Dimitris Douloufakis. Now cultivation of the vineyards and wine production is in the hands of his grandson Nikolas who studied oenology in Alba.
The vineyards are situated on hillsides at an altitude of 350m covering 10 hectares within the region of Dafnes in Crete. As well as privately owned vineyards, fruit is sourced from farmers who cultivate their own vines in the same area. 50% of the wine is matured for up to 8 months in French large oak barrels and the remainder matured in 225L used barrels.
