The wine area of Duna Borrégió is situated in the Hajos region, which is to found in Southern Hungary on an elevation, that was formerly the riverbed of the Danube.

Muscat Ottonel is a younger and less-distinguished member of the broader Muscat family. It was created in 1852 in France by a private breeder who crossed Chasselas and Muscat Ingram. The variety is known for being the palest member of the Muscat family, in terms of colour but also in terms of flavour intensity. Muscat Ottonel can be aromatic but with low acidity.
