This bold and spicy Syrah shows lush notes of wild berries, black pepper and thyme. The fresh acidity is perfectly framed by the lush, velvety tannins.
Feudo Arancio consists in fact of two estates, with red varieties planted at Sambuca di Sicilia in the west of the island, and whites in Acate near its southern coast. The range is united both by its beautiful Moorish influenced labels, and also the quality credentials of the owner, the exemplary Gruppo Mezzacorona.
This wine is produced from selected Syrah vineyards in Sambuca di Sicilia and Acate. The vines are Espalier trained, with an average density of 4500 plants per hectare.
Following de-stemming, fermentation took place over ten days at 22ºC. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for ten months in French oak barriques.
