A complex unoaked Viura, showing aromas of pear, apricot and fennel, a balanced, energetic palate, and a long, fruity finish.
The Finca Antigua vineyard is located at 900 metres above sea level, providing cool nights to temper the hot summer days. Soil is loamy, with a high limestone content giving extra definition to the wines. The vineyard is sub-divided into thirty plots, each planted to the most suitable variety. The Viura for this wine comes from a parcel called El Palomar, planted in 1990. The grapes were harvested in the third week of September.
Fermentation and maceration in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats lasted for twenty-three days. The wine was then aged for five months on the lees with weekly batonage.

In 1998, Familia Martínez Bujanda decided to look for somewhere to build a new bodega. They settled on the best, highest-altitude area of La Mancha DO, and acquired a 1000 hectare estate, with 421 hectares under vine. Named after the old vines already growing there, Finca Antigua combines the latest technology and time-honoured winemaking traditions with stunning results.
