Pale yellow with a floral bouquet and hints of Thai basil, incredibly complex stone fruit aromas with delicate herbal undertones. On the palate the texture is unforgettable and the complexity continues, with a lasting long spicy and uplifting finish.
Fox Gordon is a family-run winery specialising in contemporary, premium and award-winning wines from the Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills. From a diverse selection of grape varieties, each bottle is the ultimate fusion of wine and fashion. Made using the Fox Gordon philosophy of low input and low yield to give maximum flavour, while preserving the inherent qualities of the fruit and the site, their stylish wines are modern, bright and vibrant. Renowned winemaker Tash Mooney has a hands off approach and is happy to allow the growers to do what they do best.
In the Adelaide Hills the low winter and spring rainfall, meant the vintage started as very dry and in some cases irrigation was required, which is rare for this region. Rain in late January was worth its weight in gold, the outcome above average yields. The 2016 vintage has been hailed as one of the best all round vintages of the past decade, resulting in excellent quality fruit.
Kersbrook is on northern end of the Adelaide Hills where the climate is warmer and the rainfall less than other areas of the Hills. The vineyard is situated at approximately 480 metres above sea level and has some very high sloped areas, with the Fiano being on an eastern aspect. The vines are over 15 years old and are grown in shallow soils, which have a lot of iron stone through the soil profile.
