More info

In the Héritage range, Gérard Bertrand highlights the history and the expression of the terroirs of the South of France, by celebrating a date which has marked the history of the appellation. Narbonne, the first Gallic Roman colony, was founded in 118AD and the wines of Narbonne have been exported all over Europe since these ancient times. The vineyard benefits from the Mediterranean climate, with long sunshine hours and dry growing season combined with the cooling influence from the nearby Mediterranean Sea, which results in concentrated fruit with naturally balancing freshness. The clay-limestone terroir allows for the perfect ripening of the berries and produces elegant wines with a naturally fresh profile.

The grapes were hand-picked and then went through a manual double-sorting process before and after destemming, to ensure only the top quality fruit was vinified. Vinification lasted for a period of four weeks in temperature-controlled vats, where fermentation took place with wild and selected yeasts. Once complete, the wine was aged in vats for eight months. This cuvée was made in an unoaked style to showcase purity of fruit and the nuances of the Narbonne terroir.
