This refined Sauvignon Blanc offers mineral aromas balanced with fresh citrus notes, delicate white peach and a touch of spice. The palate shows exceptional purity, with elegant herbal notes and a refreshing finish.
The grapes come from a mixture of the estate vineyards surrounding the winery and selected vineyards in the coastal Leyda region. The Sauvignon grapes were hand-picked in March, at three stages of ripeness to bring extra complexity and balance to the wine.
Cool fermentation and reductive techniques were employed to preserve flavours and aroma. The blend was fermented in stainless steel tanks for twelve to fifteen days. Upon completion, the wine was left on light fermentation lees, which were stirred every two weeks until bottling in July.
Albaclara is a tribute to the magnificent sunrises that can be enjoyed in the vineyards.
The magnificent Haras de Pirque estate occupies a privileged position at the foot of the Andes, in Chile’s Maipo Valley region. The lovingly tended vineyards are on largely north-facing slopes, from the middle of which rises a unique horseshoe-shaped gravity-flow winery, inspired by the estate’s other claim to fame: as an internationally renowned thoroughbred breeding farm. The wine side of Haras de Pirque is now owned by Italy’s Antinori family, their chief winemaker Renzo Cotarella bringing his own elegant sensibility to bear while respecting the character of this very particular terroir.
