Minty, herbal notes, so typical of Maipo stand out on the nose whilst the palate is a riot of fresh red fruits and ripe cherries. Tannins are soft and supple giving the perfect counterpart to the juicy, fresh finish.
The grapes come entirely from organically managed estate vineyards surrounding the winery, where vine varieties are matched to each individual plot to maximize the quality of the raw material. They were picked by hand in April.
Individual vineyard parcels were fermented separately with regularl gentle pumping over. After the wines are pressed off the skins, they are racked into French oak barrels to undergo malolactic fermentation and further ageing, before blending and bottling.

The magnificent Haras de Pirque estate occupies a privileged position at the foot of the Andes, in Chile’s Maipo Valley region. The lovingly tended vineyards are on largely north-facing slopes, from the middle of which rises a unique horseshoe-shaped gravity-flow winery, inspired by the estate’s other claim to fame: as an internationally renowned thoroughbred breeding farm. The wine side of Haras de Pirque is now owned by Italy’s Antinori family, their chief winemaker Renzo Cotarella bringing his own elegant sensibility to bear while respecting the character of this very particular terroir.
