Pale salmon pink in colour, this wine has delightful aromas of Turkish delight, rose petals and lemon zest. The medium-bodied palate has fresh flavours of grapefruit and lemon blossom.
The grapes come from twenty year old vineyards planted on clay and sand soils at an altitude of 600m.
Following twelve hours of cold maceration, the grapes were pressed in a pneumatic press. Fermentation took place in inert vessels at a controlled temperature of 17-18C.
Kintonis winery is located near the city of Aigo, the capital of the Aigialeia region in the northern Peloponnese. Aigialeia is known for its dramatic mountainous vineyards planted on the slopes of Mounts Panachaikon, Klokos and Helmos, facing across the Corinthian Gulf. The vineyards here are moderated by cool breezes from the gulf during the summer and are protected by the mountains from hot and humid winds from the south. Kintonis works with selected growers across the region, covering an area of 1,100 hectares. The winery was founded in 1952 by George Kintonis and today is run by third-generation Panagiota and George J. Kintonis.
