A soft and silky-textured red, with vibrant flavours of plum, cherry and cassis. Succulent and smooth, with a hint of Mediterranean herbs to enliven the finish.
Situated in the neighbourhood of Béziers, not far from the Mediterranean sea, partly along the Canal du Midi, the 1,200 hectares of vines belong to the two hundred members of Cers Portiragnes co-operative and benefit from the southern French climate. The vineyards are between fifteen and twenty-five years old and the grapes were harvested in the cool of the early morning to preserve freshness.
Fermentation took place between 20 and 25°C with micro-oxygenation. Malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats, with a brief period of ageing on the fine lees before bottling.
