Vibrant aromas of quince pear and pineapple give way to flavours of stone fruits and apples, followed by a distinct mineral note. The palate is medium-weight and nicely textured, lifted by a fine streak of acidity on the finish.
Grapes are sourced from unirrigated bush-vine vineyards in Agter-Paarl, planted predominantly on Malmesbury Shale. The majority of the vineyards are more than twenty-five years old.
The grapes were gently crushed and the free-run juice was cold fermented at 13°C with a selected yeast strain in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then left to age on its gross lees for three months prior to bottling.

Lievland is one of Stellenbosch’s most historically important farms, and the property in its current form dates back to 1934, when it was purchased by Baron and Baroness Von Stiernhjelm from Latvia. In late 2017, José Conde and Tyrrel Myburgh, two of the South African wine industry’s leading lights, purchased the estate and they have since set about an extensive re-planting programme and reconstruction of the cellars. The farm is located in a favourable position on the north-western slope of the Simonsberg Mountain; its sheltered position, with cooler than average conditions for Stellenbosch, is ideal for high-quality wine production.
