A wonderfully fresh example of Garnacha Blanca and Chenin Blanc. Vibrant stone fruits and fennel seed on the nose, with defined texture and spice on the palate.
The Massipa vineyard was planted in 1974 and is Scala Dei’s only vineyard that includes white varieties. The site is 650 meters above sea level and faces east, with red clay and limestone soils. Vines are approximately 40 years old, with a path that divides the site in half: on one side is Garnacha Blanca and on the other is Chenin Blanc.
The grapes were pressed together and racked into concrete tanks, where fermentation took place at a controlled temperature. Once completed, the wine remained on its fine lees for three months in concrete tanks, with batonnage once per week, followed by maturation in 1200 litre foudres.
