More info

The grapes come from a careful selection from the most favoured terroirs of the Côtes de Provence, majoring on parcels from the higher elevations, in the foothills of the Sainte-Victoire Mountain range, where the cool night temperatures and poor limestone soils produce pronounced minerality. The blend is complemented by a careful selection of parcels in the ‘Golden Triangle’ around the foothills of the Maure Mountains and the upper Var region. Here, the maritime and continental climates converge, imparting the fruit with aromatic complexity and length. The soils in this area are rich in clay and sandstone, the clay element provides good water retention properties to nourish the vines during the warm, Mediterranean summers. The vines are trained according to the Cordon de Royat method and the vineyards are sustainably cultivated to promote soil and vine health and biodiversity.

The grapes were harvested at night to retain freshness and the aromatic profile followed by gentle direct pressing and partial maceration on the lees, known as stabulation. Temperature-controlled fermentation took place with selected yeasts in neutral vessels to retain the purity of fruit. Throughout the winemaking process the wines were protected with inert gas to preserve the freshness and aromatics.

Mirabeau

After years of dreaming, Jeany and Stephen made the decision to leave the leafy suburbs of South London behind in exchange for the blue skies and sunshine of Provence. Armed with big ambitions to make a world-class rosé wine, and willing to challenge established wisdom, they founded Maison Mirabeau. They embarked upon the ultimate family adventure and created one of the world’s most loved brands of rosé. Over the past 11 years, their close relationships with growers have allowed access to over 2,000 hectares of premium Provence vineyards, from which talented winemaker Guillaume Cordonis skilfully blends distinguished, rosé wines. With sustainability at the heart of everything they do, Maison Mirabeau is a Certified B Corp. Their wines capture the joie de vivre and elegance of the French Riviera, while conveying the quality, terroir and unique heritage of Provence.
