More info

Tres Parcelas is a wine sourced from three distinct terroirs – Apontador: exposition south/southwest, altitude 253m-303m; Tomba Chapeus: exposition south east/south/south west, altitude 155m-241m; Mina: exposition south/south west, altitude 185m-222m. Each of these specific sites contributes a unique and valuable character to the blend of the three. Proportions from each will vary slightly from year to year according to the blend. The soils at Quinta da Romaneira are predominantly schist, with a laminated structure that facilitates drainage and allows the vine roots to penetrate deeply to reach nutrients and moisture.

Fermented in stainless steel tanks for a period of 8 days where it then undergoes malolactic fermentation. 100% aged in French 225l. oak barrels for 12 months, 20% new, 45% second year and 35% third year.

Quinta da Romaneira

Established in 1757, Romaneira is one of the largest estates on the region, with a total of 412 ha and 3 km of river frontage on the river Douro, of which 86 ha are planted. The vineyards are planted on terraces on the steeply sloping hills of the property: with many valleys and promontories, Romaneira contains several microclimates and various slopes with differing exposures. All of the wines are made exclusively from grapes from the estate’s vineyards, a distinctive characteristic of Quinta da Romaneira wines. In 2004, Christian Seely turns his dream into reality, bringing together a group of investors to acquire Romaneira and since 2012 Andre Esteve has been Christian’s sole partner Romaneira has benefitted from very extensive renovation, rebuilding and replanting. A new winery was built in 2005, the long dreamed of opportunity of Christian Seely and the original winemaker Antonio Agrellos, now succeeded by his nephew Carlos, to construct the ideal modern and technical winery in the Douro Valley, starting from scratch allowing the estate to produce wines of the highest quality.
