The Öküzgözü brings fleshy berry fruit flavours, whilst the Boğazkere provides tannin and structure, darker fruit flavours and notes of liquorice and black pepper. Bold, bright and fruit-forward, with a long, harmonious finish.
The grapes come from vineyards in Güney planted at altitudes of over 700 metres above sea level. The unirrigated vines are between twenty and twenty-five years old and are planted on a mix of clay and limestone. The grapes were harvested by hand.
The grapes underwent fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at 23-25°C, with ten days’ maceration on the skins. After fermentation, 10% of the wine underwent six months’ ageing in 300-litre, medium toast, French oak barrels.

The Sevilen winery was founded by Bulgarian immigrant Isa Güner in 1942, who convinced by Turkey’s potential for producing quality wines, purchased four hectares of land in Izmir and began planting vineyards. His passion for the land led him to name his fledgling business Sevilen, meaning ‘Beloved’. Expansion took a step change under his sons, Gökhan and Coflkun, who joined the business in 1958, growing the holdings to 50 hectares. Now run by the third generation of the Güner family, Sevilen own a total of 160 hectares of vineyards and demonstrate a level of ambition that has positioned them as one of Turkey’s most significant high-quality wine producers.
