Complex bouquet of banana, pineapple, citrus, candied fruit, vanilla, cinnamon and white chocolate. The palate is very rich and intense with a serious mineral seam.
The chardonnay grapes are sourced from two of Tasca d'Almerita's vineyards: San Francesco, planted in 1985 and Cava Rina Nuova, planted in 1997. The vineyards lie at 530 metres above sea level with a southwest exposure, and the soils are deep, lightly calcareous sand and clay.
The wine was fermented in 350-litre French oak barrels for fifteen days at 18C. Following fermentation, it spent a further eight months in barrel, with seventy percent new oak and thirty percent one-year-old, but did not go through malolactic fermentation.
Family, nature and culture are the foundation of Tasca's thinking in promoting Sicily’s uniqueness and diversity as a wine region. With five estates across the island, each with its own distinct character and native varieties, Tasca initiated a project to further understand the regions and native grape varieties of Sicily, and to preserve the local traditions.
