Intense cherry red colour with bright purple hints. On the nose appear red and black fruit aromas such as cherries and blackberry interwoven with a subtle and spicy bay leaf character. On the palate the wine displays soft and sweet tannins, a balanced acidity, nice structure and a medium lovely finish.
Sourced from vineyards in the Central Valley, where the vines are vertically positioned, spaced at 1.5 x 2.2 metres apart and drip irrigated. The crops are green harvested to eliminate short shoots and enhance the quality of the grapes.
Fermentation took place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 15 days, with two to three pump overs per day in order to extract the desired levels of flavours, colour and fine tannins. The wine was stabilised and then earth filtered before bottling.
