Umani Ronchi Centovie Colli Aprutini Pecorino 2023

URCP23

New product

Elegant flavours of citrus fruits and fleshy white peaches lead on to delicate notes of wild flowers, camomile and herbs. A saline, savoury note brings complex minerality, so typical of Pecorino, whilst the lean acidity lifts and refreshes.

More info

The grapes come from organically farmed vines in the Roseto degli Abruzzi estate, planted on a mix of sand and clay soils. The grapes were hand selected in the vineyard during early September.

The grapes were gently pressed and rapidly cooled before undergoing a spell of static settling. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 20°C for twenty days. Malolactic fermentation was not carried out. 50% of the wine then spent twelve months ageing in 50% neutral tonneaux, with the remaining 50% ageing in stainless steel tanks.

Umani Ronchi

Umani Ronchi is owned by the Bianchi-Bernetti family, who since 1957 has been achieving the best out of Verdicchio and Montepulciano, two varietals that find their finest expression in Marche and Abruzzo. Today Umani Ronchi includes a total surface of 210 hectares spread between the hills and the sea along the Adriatic coast. The 185 km of rows are distributed across ten districts, each with its own vocation and terroir. Ethic and respect for territory and its biodiversity reflect a sustainable way of thinking and acting. All our vineyards, are farmed organic.
