Flavours of ripe plums and red cherries give way to balsamic and savoury notes. The palate is full-bodied, with plush, velvety tannins and the finish is long and intense, with subtle notes of liquorice and spice.
The grapes come from vineyards in various municipalities in the Abruzzo Region, with a specific and dedicated pruning regime that limits fruit production and allows good circulation of air around the bunches, ensuring even ripening.
The grapes were destemmed and gently pressed into stainless steel tanks and the must underwent alcoholic fermentation at a temperature of 26-28°C lasting ten to twelve days. Following alcoholic fermentation, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, and half was then aged in 5,000 and 8,000 litre oak barrels with the rest in third and fourth-fill barriques for a period of twelve months.
