Sweet morello cherry flavours are supported by floral notes of dried rose petal and smoky incense. The tannins are silky and perfectly in harmony with the medium to full-bodied palate, flowing through to the elegant, lengthy finish.
The grapes come from vineyards located in two estates in Osimo and Ancona, planted on calcareous clay soils at densities between 2,200 to 5,680 vines per hectare with cordon spurred training. The yields are between eight and nine tons per hectare. The grapes were harvested by hand.
The grapes were destemmed and gently pressed into stainless steel tanks and the must underwent alcoholic fermentation at a temperature of 26-28°C lasting ten to twelve days. Following alcoholic fermentation, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, and half was then aged in 5,000 and 8,000 litre oak barrels with the rest in third and fourth-fill barriques for a period of twelve months.
