Litoral Leyda Valley Sauvignon Blanc, from Vina Ventolera, is a steely Sancerre-style Sauvignon Blanc from Chile's emerging Leyda Valley region. The area's cool climate and long growing season give the wine subtle, mineral flavours and wonderfully refreshing acidity. The wines from this estate age uncommonly well for a New World Sauvignon producer.
Ignacio Reccabarren is the godfather of modern winemaking in Chile and he has started a joint venture with cool climate grape grower, Vicente Izquierdo, in the trendy cool climate region of Leyda, just 6 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The salty sea breezes help to produce wonderfully aromatic and zesty wines.
