Vina Edmara Pinot Noir shows a seductive and complex combination of black cherry and raspberry aromas, rose petals and violets, mingled with a soft touch of vanilla and coconut. Light-bodied but rich, with a soft and velvety texture. Smooth tannins and an elegant aftertaste.
Chile produces remarkably good wines at amazingly good prices from its privileged position between the Andes and the Pacific, where winemakers are blessed with some of the most desirable conditions on earth: exceptional soils, ideal temperatures, intense sunlight. There is very little use of pesticide and the philosophy of the winemakers is minimal interference. Viña Edmara wines reflect Chile and the typicity of each of the varietals and of their terroir.
The berries were destemmed and partially crushed. The must was cooled immediately after crushing to maintain aromas, flavours and to reduce the level of sulphur dioxide. A cool pre-fermentation maceration lasted for five days, extracting primary flavours and colour. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, with a gentle extraction to achieve a soft and fruity character in the final wine. After a short post fermentation maceration, the wine had brief oak contact, to increase complexity.
