Vourvoukeli

The Vourvoukelis Estate Winery was founded by Nikos and Flora Vourvoukelis in 1999, in the area of Avdira, in the Province of Xanthi, when Nikos, who had grown up surrounded by vineyards and wine from a young age, felt the urge to work with the cultivation of vineyards and wine. With the vision of resurrecting the famous vineyard of Avdira, Nikos planted 2 hectares in the fertile hills of the area with indigenous and international varieties of grapes varieties. In parallel with this his two older sons, Giorgos and Odysseas, pursued studies in the field of oenology before becoming involved with the winery, which they now manage.

The estate has gradually developed into a privately owned 12-hectare vineyard, cultivated in accordance with the regulations for organic farming, made possible by the particular favourable climate of the region.
