New product

A lovely example of the Fiano grape, with its lifted floral bouquet, exotic tropical notes of lychee, pineapple and subtle herbaceous aromas. The zesty, textured palate is perfectly balanced and combines beautifully with the crisp citrus flavours.

More info

Fiano is native to Campania in Italy, but this early ripening and relatively low yielding variety has been really flourishing in the Australian climate for the past few decades. The Fiano grapes for this wine come from the Torino vineyard near the village of Tharbogang in the Riverina, New South Wales. The vines are grown on a sandy soil with clay subsoils. As the climate is hot and dry, drip irrigation is required to nourish the vines. The vineyard rows are orientated to face north to south and the vines are trellised on a double wire and spur pruned. The grapes are machine harvested when they have reached the optimum levels of maturity.

Berton Vineyards

Berton Vineyards was established in 1996 by Bob and Cherie Berton when they purchased a block of land in High Eden, a subregion of the Barossa Valley, South Australia. This idyllic property sits 450m above sea level on gently rolling hills.

In 2005 the decision was made to purchase a winery to process the 100 odd tonnes that was produced at the High Eden Vineyard. In 2005 when the former Southcorp winery in Yenda became available, Bob and Cherie joined with Jamie Bennett, Paul Bartholomaeus and James Ceccato to form Berton Vineyards the company. The winery was purchased and they moved to their new home in November 2005.

This state-of-the-art facility has the capacity to process 20,000 tonnes and enables Berton Vineyards to produce value for money wines together with their premium single vineyard offerings.
