La Scolca® Gavi Dei Gavi Black Label 2025
This flagship wine showcases a delicate bouquet of white flowers, almond and mineral tones. Vivid and intense on the palate, with orange, citrus and a salty minerality, layered with nuances of flint, almond and walnut on the long, fresh finish.

La Scolca® estate is situated in the municipality of Gavi DOCG del Comune di Gavi. The vineyards are planted across a geological tapestry, encompassing red clays, white soils, marly, and alluvial lands. The estate is characterised by detritus-based soils, which are intricately mixed with sand and silt. The proximity of the sea and the influence of the Libeccio winds imbue the grapes with their signature freshness, while the tuffaceous soil contributes a distinct minerality. The grapes for this wine come from a careful and meticulous selection from 60-year-old vines. The vines are trained using both the Guyot and "Cordone Speronato" (cordon spur) systems. La Scolca® holds the SQNPI certification, and the vineyards are cultivated with respect for nature and without the use of chemical products, instead employing natural fertilisers and copper sulphate. Gavi dei Gavi®is trademarked for the exclusive use of La Scolca®, for its Black Label Gavi as a testimony of the quality of this wine and the heritage of the winery.
The grapes were vinified according to plot and age of vine, in order to respect the origins of the fruit. They were gently pressed, and the must was fermented with wild yeasts at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks, retaining the aroma 'precursors' from pressing until fermentation, which took place ‘sur lie’. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for an extended period on its lees, without any oak influence. The desired clarity was achieved through natural sedimentation.
