Zesty citrus and pink grapefruit aromas are complemented by herbal notes of asparagus and pea, through to a fresh, lively palate with an uplifting finish.
The grapes for this wine originate from various parcels within the Finca El Oasis estate vineyards, situated at an altitude of 1,280 to 1,300 metres. Planted in 2007, these vineyards are characterised by shallow, rocky soils with excellent permeability and low organic matter content. The double-cordoned, VSP-trained vines are carefully balanced through pruning and other viticultural practices to maintain low yields. VSP training was selected as the most effective method for balancing production and quality in the Uco Valley. Efficient drip irrigation and meticulous canopy management ensure optimal grape ripening and provides protection from direct sunlight. Machine harvesting takes place at night to minimise oxidation and preserve aromatic integrity. Furthermore, copper is avoided in the Sauvignon Blanc vineyard due to the grape's delicate aromas.
The grapes were harvested using state-of-the-art machinery and destemmed in the vineyard, ensuring only berries reached the winery. Pneumatic pressing separated the must from the skins and seeds, after which the must remained in contact with the remaining sediment at low temperatures to enhance aromatic development. Cold static decantation clarified the must before it was transferred to another tank for alcoholic fermentation. Post-fermentation, the wine remained on its lees until bottling.

Bodegas Salentein is nestled in the picturesque Uco Valley just south of Mendoza. In 1996, Dutch entrepreneur Mijndert Pon purchased the estate in what initially seemed to be a rocky desert. He ambitiously embarked on planting vineyards at high altitudes with the aim of producing ‘wines like no other.’ A year later, construction of the magnificent cross-shaped winery began. The four wings of the landmark winery each ferment the wines before gravity transfers it to the underground cellars. The high-altitude vines are planted at an elevation of between 1,050 and 1,600 metres, against the breathtaking backdrop of the Andes Mountains. At this altitude, the vines benefit from optimal diurnal temperature differences and a diverse terroir in which they flourish. Today, Bodegas Salentein is one of the most admired Argentine wineries - not just in the Uco Valley, but in the world. Their focus is producing terroir-driven wines which express the essence of the Uco Valley, and they do so with great purity and finesse.
