Elegant strawberry and blackcurrant fruit has been given the merest hint of vanilla and spice from a short spell in oak. Smooth and powerful on the palate, with an elegantly appetising finish.
The climate in Ribera del Duero is continental with slight Atlantic influences. Winters tend to be fairly cold, while summers are dry and hot. Vineyards are planted on alluvial soils and lie at altitudes of 700-1000 metres above sea level.
Destemmed grapes were fermented in temperature-controlled vats at a maximum of 27°C. During the fermentation the wine was pumped over two or three times a day for about ten to fifteen days. The wine was aged in American oak for four months and spent six months in bottle before release.

The mountainous extremes and violent extremes of temperature which characterize Ribera del Duero have failed to discourage winemakers, who have flocked there in droves in the past few years. Soil conditions are perfect for vine growing and the grapes produced are of particularly fine quality. This bodega was established in 1988 and now extends to 200 hectares of vineyard planted exclusively to Tinto Fino (the local name for Tempranillo).
