A delightful wine, as well as something of a rarity, this Loire Malbec has an intense nose of fresh ripe plums and blackcurrants. The palate is medium-bodied and juicy, with some spicy notes and a refreshing finish.
The vineyard occupies slopes on the right bank of the River Cher, well exposed to the southwest and southeast. Soils vary between clay-limestone and shallow flinty clay, with good drainage. Vineyard treatments are kept to a minimum, in line with the Terra Vitis code of practice.
The grapes were destemmed and then fermented in temperature-controlled tanks. The wine is unoaked.

Over the last forty years, Guy Allion has grown this traditional family estate from six hectares to twenty-seven; his son Cédric has worked alongside him since 1999. Careful viticulture is the obsession here, delivering not just expressive Sauvignon, but pure Pinot Noir and ripe Malbec too – no mean feat in Touraine!
