Ripe and juicy, with a succulent dark fruit character, satisfyingly rich to taste with elegant, spicy undertones and a hint of liquorice on the finish.
The grapes come from vineyards planted on clay soils in the southern Italian region of Puglia, where the warm Mediterranean climate allows the grapes to ripen perfectly.
The grapes were destemmed and then macerated for eight days in order to extract colour and structure. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation were carried out in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25-27°C. The wine was then allowed to settle for a short period in tank before bottling.
