An elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, with enticing aromas of roasted red pepper, spice and distinct varietal characters of rich blackcurrant fruit lead to a beautifully structured palate with silky tannins and a long finish.
The grapes for this wine are sourced from various parcels within the Finca El Oasis estate vineyards, situated at an altitude of 1,100-1,150 metres above sea level. Planted in 2012, these vines thrive in shallow, rocky soils with excellent permeability and low organic matter content. The low-yielding vines are trained on a double cordon trellis system, promoting balance and even ripening. Precise drip irrigation and meticulous canopy management further ensure optimal grape maturity. VSP (vertical shoot positioning) is the chosen training method, considered optimal for balancing yield and quality. Herbicide use is minimised, and advanced drip irrigation technology, coupled with careful vineyard monitoring, ensures efficient water management. Green pruning practices further enhance polyphenol development and overall grape quality.
Harvested using state-of-the-art machinery, the grapes were destemmed in the vineyard, ensuring only berries arrived at the winery. These were immediately transferred to tanks for cold maceration. During fermentation, remontage was carried out four times daily. Post-fermentation maceration on the skins followed, with regular tastings to monitor development. After racking, the wine underwent malolactic conversion before being matured in a combination of French and American oak.

Bodegas Salentein is nestled in the picturesque Uco Valley just south of Mendoza. In 1996, Dutch entrepreneur Mijndert Pon purchased the estate in what initially seemed to be a rocky desert. He ambitiously embarked on planting vineyards at high altitudes with the aim of producing ‘wines like no other.’ A year later, construction of the magnificent cross-shaped winery began. The four wings of the landmark winery each ferment the wines before gravity transfers it to the underground cellars. The high-altitude vines are planted at an elevation of between 1,050 and 1,600 metres, against the breathtaking backdrop of the Andes Mountains. At this altitude, the vines benefit from optimal diurnal temperature differences and a diverse terroir in which they flourish. Today, Bodegas Salentein is one of the most admired Argentine wineries - not just in the Uco Valley, but in the world. Their focus is producing terroir-driven wines which express the essence of the Uco Valley, and they do so with great purity and finesse.
